Celebrate the Occasion

Welcome to another wonderful challenge! This week at Celebrate the Occasion we are asking that you make an "Any occasion card using ribbon".

I have a Birthday card for you today!
The stamp was given to me by my friends mom. It is a Stamps Happen, Inc stamp.
I used a shimmery red cardstock and added the stitching to match the bow.

This card was made for one of my LOH friends. My husband and friend share the same birthday!
We celebrated both birthdays this past weekend in Las Vegas!

Now go on over to CTO and enter your own card!
Thanks for visiting.

Another Baby on the way!

No, I am not expecting, but my husband's co-worker is!
This is the card and blanket I made for her.
Since the mom to be hasn't found out what she is having I decided to use both stamps.
I was going for a vintage look but I really don't have the right supplies for that theme.

I had started this blanket last Friday but realized on Sunday night that the pattern had a flaw.
So at 9pm Sunday night I started over and here is what I was able to produce.
(most of it was done while I was working). :)

The yarn is TLC ultra soft in neutral.
The shower is today. I hope she enjoys the blanket.

The Circus is in Town!!!

Come one, Come all, To the greatest show on Earth!
This week at Die Cuttin' Divas we are having fun under the big top with our CIRCUS theme.

We were asked to think outside of the box so I decided to make an explosion box! :)

(By the way this is the first explosion box that I have ever made.)
These are the 150+ pieces that I cut using Paper Doll Dress Up, Everyday Day Paper Dolls, and Create A Critter cartridges so I could assemble all of the elements of the explosion box..
Around the outside of the box is the word CIRCUS.

Here are all of the layers to the explosion box.
This layer is made up if 6 clowns all cut at 2 inches.
This layer is the elephant and peanut group. All of these pieces were cut at 1 inch.
(except for the clown hats which were cut at 2 inches)
I just love the Lions, Tigers and Seals (Oh My!) layer. All of these were cut at 1 inch as well.
I forgot to mention that all of the animals have googlie eyes.
In the center of the layers you can see the Ringmaster, leading the show, and a little girl, enjoying the circus. (cut at 2 inches)

I had a blast making this explosion box. The template I used can be easily found by doing a search for explosion boxes. I found the template to be slightly off when putting all of the layers together. Maybe it was something my printer did to the template.

Thanks for staying though this long post. I hope you enjoyed my project. Don't forget to go to the DCD blog and show us your circus inspired projects. Also, please visit my fellow design team members, they all made such cre8tive circus projects this week.

Along with many prayers and blessing for a safe recovery.

Die Cuttin' Diva's Challenge!

If you are looking for the Celebrate the Occasion challenge, click HERE

Over at Die Cuttin Diva's we are having the best challenge. It's a zoo challenge!!!
I created this card for my niece. Her birthday was over Labor day weekend.
I used Create a Critter for the animals and pond. the sentiment is from a sticker pack that I won from our very own Patty.

Here is a close up of the animals that I used 3D Zots to pop out from the card.

This is what the card said, "Hip, Hip Hooray! Look who's turning 6 today!"
This was such a fun card to make. I can't see what all of you decide to cre8. So head on over to DCD and show us your zoo themed cards.

Celebrate The Occasion!

Welcome to another great Celebrate The Occasion challenge. This week we were asked to make a tall card that incorporated a present. I decided to make a card for my friend, Dave.
I cut the pirate ship and present using my cricut, the embossing is the diamond plate for Cuttlebug, and the stamp is Hero Arts. The brads are from Joann's.

I also decorated the inside of the card with another present cut on my Cricut.
The birthday dinner we had for my friend was so much fun and Dave really liked his card.
Thanks for visiting my blog. Don't forget to head on over to CTO for the challenge.

Critter Sketch Challenge Blog

Over at the Critter Sketch Challenge Blog they have an "anything but a card" challenge this week.
My friend let me borrow the bride quartet series by Nora Roberts. So as a thank you I made her this corner bookmark. Great books, check them out if you like romance novels!
The flowers are the new recollections bottle flowers. I used Kraft and cream cardstock and DP is from Michael's. The stamp is from Inkadinkado. The rhinestones are from the dollar bin at Michael's. I also used my Martha Stewart punch for the layers.

Challenges I am also entering this into:
Try it on Tuesday: Monochrome
Stamp With Fun: Autumn/Fall
